"Words are important." Words communicate and crystallize thoughts, and can paint a picture and teach values. Words matter. Word meanings matter. For the author, poetry has always been a bit of a brain break before her brain brakes or breaks. She happily spits out words all over a piece of paper then plays with them and puzzles them out as one way to process emotions, thoughts, and ideas.
