Wieland’s often-revised translations of Horace’s letters have long been the objects of great admiration as one of the most significant literary works of the Weimar Classics. Wieland’s translations included detailed introductions and extensive elucidations. Starting with the second edition (1790), Wieland’s translation was accompanied by the Latin text – as has been done again in this new edition of Wieland’s Works.
