Dr. Gina Pepin, Ed.D. (Teacher Leadership), M.S. (Reading & Literacy K–6), is Michigan's 2023-2024 and 2018-2019 Region 1 Teacher of the Year. She is a rural elementary reading intervention teacher with a national leadership presence. Dr. Pepin has led family literacy workshops, mentored K–12 and university teacher candidates, taught graduate literacy courses online, served as a commissioner and board member for AAQEP, and worked as an editor for the Michigan Reading Journal. A passionate advocate for early literacy and teacher leadership, she is co-author of The Power of Joyful Reading: Help Your Young Readers Soar to Success with Eric Litwin (Scholastic, 2020).
