Brave Like a Buffalo

Autor Melissa Allan Ilustrat de Jadyn Fischer-McNab
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 12 sep 2023
Paperback illustrated story helps children ages 0-6 think about courage, adversity and the importance of facing difficult moments with support from others.

Written by Melissa Allan and illustrated by Jadyn Fischer-McNab, Brave Like a Buffalo uses the buffalo as a central symbol of strength and perseverance. The story connects a young child's experience of facing life's storms with the idea that courage does not have to mean standing alone.

The buffalo also provides a connection to Indigenous ways of knowing and being, giving families and educators an accessible starting point for conversations about bravery, community and relationships. The book's emphasis is on emotional resilience expressed through story and illustration rather than on abstract instruction.

Designed for early childhood audiences, this paperback edition offers a flexible format for shared family reading, classroom discussion and early-learning collections. Its combination of a simple narrative, Indigenous connections and a clear message about support makes it useful to readers working with young children around themes of courage and adversity.
