Bon Voyage!

Shirley E. Tyler-Griffin was born in Washington D.C. to the parents of Grace and Clarence Tyler. I was reared my entire life in Chicago, Illinois. I am a wife, mother, sister, teacher, cosmetologist, writer and last, but in no wise least, a saint of Christ Jesus. I developed a love of reading and writing in my early years. My first poem the "The Loner", was written over 50 years ago. It was published in my High School newspaper when I was a senior. I graduated Beale Upper Grade Center, Englewood High School, Kennedy King College with Honors. I also attended U.I.C. with a major in Elementary Education. My first major was Business at Malcolm X College. I am married to John h. Griffin. I was baptized in Jesus Name at the age of 12. I received the precious gift of Holy Ghost at the age of 27.
