Despite his older brother's protest, Little Wolf has been allowed to join the war band on its trek across the dry, dusty plains. The war band follows the tribe's buffalo herd in order to protect the herd and lure an enemy tribe into a trap. Unfortunately, Little Wolf always seems to cause trouble and make things worse.
