Daisy Belle Darling, who for many years has been a foundling in the eastern US Colonies, finds herself on a riverboat, and then on the Natchez Trace. New friends and guidance from the Lord provide experiences with Indians, frontier settlers, outlaws, and a lasting love. Although the young woman knows little about her background she turns again and again to her Christian faith which is based on Jeremiah's words of Gods' plan for a future with hope.
