Notă biografică

Sara de Jesus Duarte is a Soil Science researcher and development Director at Latin America Institute of Biochar, Mexico, Biochar researcher and development Leader at The Next 150, Mexico, Editor of Journals. She holds a degree in Agronomist Engineering and advanced qualifications that include a Master’s degree, Ph.D., and a post-doctoral degree, all in Soil Science. Dr. Duarte has built a successful career in academia and research, leading key research initiatives at ESALQ-USP in Brazil, Martin Luther University in Germany, and UNAM in Mexico. With ten years of specialized experience studying the effects of biochar on soil and climate change mitigation, she brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Her significant contributions to soil science have had a global impact, with her work as a biochar consultant benefiting communities across different regions of the world and her research findings published in several leading academic journals.
Patrick Atanasije Pineda is an entrepreneur with extensive management and operational experience in the founding and early growth of companies in sustainable agribusiness, particularly in the development of carbon projects and biochar initiatives. He holds a degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics. Throughout his career, he has focused on the design and implementation of carbon projects, with expertise in biochar-based systems. He is the founder and former Managing Director of General Biochar Systems and has served as Chief Executive Officer of The Next 150, where he led the development of innovative solutions in sustainable agriculture and carbon markets. His work combines strategic leadership with operational expertise, contributing to the advancement of scalable biochar and carbon sequestration projects.
