Billy
Autor John Seegersen Limba Engleză Paperback – sep 2026
New York City, 1972. Eighteen-year-old Billy Johnson has spent most of his life believing he was unwanted. After years of abuse, foster homes, and surviving on the streets by selling drugs, he expects nothing from the world except another day of getting by.
Everything changes when a chance encounter leads him to Ethel Schiender, a lonely widow living in a Greenwich Village townhome. As Billy begins helping the elderly woman with everyday chores, an unlikely friendship grows into something neither of them expected. Through quiet conversations, shared meals, and the steady rhythm of ordinary days, Ethel begins teaching Billy lessons about responsibility, dignity, and believing in a future worth planning for.
But as Ethel's health begins to fail, Billy is forced to confront painful family secrets buried for nearly two decades. Standing at the crossroads between the life he has always known and the one Ethel believes he deserves, he must decide whether to return to the streets or find the courage to leave everything behind and discover who he was always meant to become.

Notă biografică
John Seegers, born in New Jersey, moved to Orlando, Florida, at the age of 20, driven by an adventurous spirit to embark on a new life. He found his true calling in the hospitality industry, serving visitors in Central Florida for over four decades. His career began with a brief stint at Walt Disney World, followed by various roles in hotel sales and catering management. After decades of dedication to the industry, John embarked on a new adventure: retirement.A few years into his retirement, John sought a fresh challenge and discovered the Camino de Santiago through a neighbor. Captivated by the idea of undertaking a pilgrimage, he set out in 2021 at the age of 67 to walk 500 miles on the Camino Francés. Starting in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, France, he traversed the rugged terrain of the Pyrenees and ventured across northern Spain before reaching the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. Upon his triumphant return, John shared these experiences in his debut memoir, Another Camino Story, before returning to complete a second pilgrimage in 2023. In 2024, at the age of 69, John's adventures continued along the Camino Portuguese coastal route, a journey he captured in his second book, My Way on the Camino Portuguese.Drawing from his lifelong love of adventure, nostalgia, and rich character journeys, John expanded his writing into historical fiction with his novel, Billy: A '70s Story. He continues to live, walk, and write in Florida.
