A Border Terrier's heroics on the Western Front in WW1. Bertie is employed in the trenches as a messenger.He carries urgent dispatches from Battalion HQ to troops at the front. He is also tasked with seeking out dead and wounded soldiers. One day he finds his master half drowned in a shell crater.
