The Gospel of John stands apart. While Matthew, Mark, and Luke present Jesus as King, Servant, and Son of Man, John reveals Him as the Son of God-- the eternal Word made flesh, the Light no darkness can overcome, the one who invites all to believe and, in believing, to truly live. In Believe and Live, J. Roger Davis guides readers through a 31-day journey into the heart of John's Gospel. Each day offers Scripture, reflection, and prayerful application designed to help readers slow down, see Jesus with fresh eyes, and experience the transforming love of God in everyday life. John wrote his Gospel with a clear purpose: "that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name" (John 20:31). This devotional holds that same purpose at its center-- helping readers move from knowledge about Jesus to living faith in Him. Over 31 days, readers will journey through all 21 chapters of John, exploring:
The Word becoming flesh and dwelling among us
The first miracle at Cana and Jesus' cleansing of the temple
Nicodemus and the call to be born again
The woman at the well and good news for all people
Jesus as the bread of life, the light of the world, and the good shepherd
The raising of Lazarus and Jesus' power over death
The promise of the Holy Spirit
The betrayal, crucifixion, and resurrection
The restoration of Peter and the call to follow
Each daily reading includes Scripture, a warm and insightful reflection, questions to help readers think through the passage, and prompts for prayer and conversation with God. Believe and Live is ideal for:
Personal devotional time
Small group or Bible study use
New believer discipleship
A gift for someone exploring the Christian faith
Whether readers have known these stories for years or are discovering them for the first time, this devotional will help them draw near to the One who still calls, still heals, and still brings life to all who believe. About the Author
