Beautifully Unread

Hillary Summerbell is the inventor, founder, and CEO of Summerbell, a pioneering literacy innovation reshaping how the world supports readers with dyslexia. As a dyslexic herself, Hillary grew up struggling with reading and numbers, not realizing her brain simply processed information differently. Years later, she made a breakthrough discovery: when she arranged text in a gentle arc, she could read and comprehend with ease for the first time. That insight led her to develop The Summerbell Reading Method, a patented, science-backed approach that transforms linear text into a curved, visually intuitive format proven to improve fluency, comprehension, and confidence. Combining her background in design with an engineer's problem-solving mindset, Hillary translated her personal revelation into a powerful educational technology. Today, she leads Summerbell not only as an inventor and entrepreneur but as a passionate advocate for reading equity and neurodiversity. Her work is rooted in the belief that dyslexia is not a deficit, but a different kind of creative brain, and that accessibility should never depend on privilege. Under her leadership, Summerbell has evolved into a category-defining tool that empowers students, families, and educators around the world to read smarter, not harder.
