Baumanière: La Martinière/Abrams
Autor Isabelle Bunisseten Limba Engleză Hardback – apr 2027
The Domaine de Baumanière was founded the same year Michelin-starred chef Jean-André Charial was born. Carried there as an infant by his grandfather, the future host of L’Oustau now marks a double milestone: his birthday and the anniversary of the estate he considers his own.
In the book created for the occasion, Jean-André Charial narrates the history of this legendary estate in Les Baux-de-Provence, long favored by dignitaries, ministers, financiers, and even a visiting queen. Beginning with Raymond Thuillier’s founding of L’Oustau and continuing through Jean-André Charial’s travels, rigorous Michelin-star training, and ultimate takeover of the estate, two intertwined narratives emerge.
Laurent Dupont’s magnificent photographs weave the intimate and unbreakable bonds between Baumanière and Provence, nature and cuisine, family anecdotes and the grand history of the place. In harmony with Jean-André Charial’s voice, the photographer’s keen eye evokes the garrigue’s fragrance, the cicadas’ song, and the rocks silhouetted against a cerulean sky. Baumanière appears as a unique sanctuary-serene, refined, and beautiful.
