Recenzii
A superbly illustrated compendium of information, examples, concepts, and more... Basics Film-Making: Screenwriting is an ideal and effective introduction that should be considered an invaluable instructional guide and continuing reference manual for anyone who aspires to write a professional quality screenplay.
Easy to read, accessible, covers all the main industry requirements. Excellent use of contemporary examples.
The book addresses the basic elements of screenwriting, while encouraging the aspiring writer through the stages of the process. In addition, the use of examples provides clarification of the authors' main points.
Great - perfect for teaching - especially allocating chapters. Enough concise information for my course.
It is concise, well thought out, clearly laid out and reader-friendly.
Well laid out. Thoughtful approach. Excellent sections on refining dialogue and mise-en-scène.
This well laid out book, full of pictures and sparsely laid out text was a breeze to complete. It shows examples of scripts from first to final draft and interviews and numerous quotes from film-makers, both new and old. It was simply laid out in a strikingly graphic manner that never daunts the reader; or deters them from completing both the book and the screenplay.
'Absolutely relevant ... First-class. Dynamic, precise and extremely well-produced.'
A very accessible book that gives students an insight into the processes and techniques of screenwriting. It cites many good examples of best practice and covers all aspects of the screenwriting processes ... The section on theories of storytelling is succinct and accessible and appropriate for level 4 film students. Good clear layout that is consistent with the range of Basics books.
An excellent and beautifully illustrated book which has an extensive range of sources and examples and is very accessible. It also has really useful tips and advice for students and is easy to dip into and browse through. Highly recommended.
