Wilfrid had no idea of the impending attack by the Scots. If he had, he would never have agreed to meet with Kate that fateful night on Bamburgh beach. And Matthew's life would have been saved. Now with something to prove, he was given his big chance by none other than Kate's father. The staff, purportedly an ancient relic, had a date with history in the mountains of Helvetia. This was Wilfrid's mission. One of kingdom dimensions.
It was a brutal yet glorious journey through medieval Europe facing sword and sickness, love and loss. A remarkable story. An absorbing page turner.
