Notă biografică

Dimitrios Ziakkas is an aviation human factors researcher, airline captain and accident incident investigator with more than 35 years of experience in military and civil aviation operations and more than12,000 flight hours. He works as an Assistant Professor within the School of Engineering at Coventry University, UK, and collaborates internationally with academic institutions and aviation organisations on safety and technology research initiatives. Dr Ziakkas previously served as an Assistant Professor at Purdue University’s School of Aviation and Transportation Technology in the United States. A former Hellenic Air Force officer, he later flew with Olympic Air, Qatar Airways, and Legend Airlines. He is an active Airbus captain, instructor, and examiner holding A-320, A-330/350, and A-340 type ratings. He holds several advanced degrees, including a Ph.D. in the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology, and his research focuses on Human Factors, aviation technology adoption, Artificial Intelligence, flight safety, and advanced air mobility. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a member of a number of leading aviation and human-factors organisations.
Konstantinos Pechlivanis is an Airbus A320 captain with more than 9,000 flight hours and a PhD candidate in the Department of Production Engineering and Management at the Technical University of Crete, Greece, where his research addresses behavioural markers and competency frameworks for single pilot operations. He holds a BSc in Aviation Science from the Hellenic Air Force Academy and an MSc in Human Factors in Aviation from Coventry University, UK, awarded with distinction. Across two decades in military and civil aviation he has served as flight instructor, examiner, functional check flight pilot and standardisation instructor, and as deputy head of safety (air force wing level). Konstantinos is an accredited Aviation Human Factors Specialist (AvHFS) of the European Association for Aviation Psychology (EAAP), a Technical Member of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF), a Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society (MRAeS), and an Upper Freeman of the Honourable Company of Air Pilots. He has co-edited and contributed to CRC Press volumes on artificial intelligence, cultural intelligence and transport accident investigation.
