Her rich Eastern European and Latin American heritage, her experience in exile and her profound humanistic vision accompany the poet as she writes about ancestors, women, children, the poor and the disinherited. Despite the difficult material she examines, Agosín expresses a need to -rejoice in life and to believe in the possibility of change.
