Assistive Technology for Learners with Extensive Support Needs: A Step-by-step Guide for Teachers

Autor Christopher Brum, Elizabeth Castagnera
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 16 mar 2027
Ready to become an assistive technology champion for your most vulnerable learners? This comprehensive guide transforms complex AT implementation into an achievable, step-by-step process that actually works in real classrooms. It shows you how to assess students’ individual needs and abilities and select the right AT tools, explaining in-depth how to evaluate what's really working (and what isn't) and adjust as you go.
You’ll learn how to integrate multiple assessment tools without drowning in paperwork and identify both the hidden barriers and unexpected facilitators that can make or break AT success. The book also explains everything that affects whether assistive technology will succeed— from the student's abilities to classroom challenges to family support. Most importantly, you'll gain the skills to make data-driven decisions that lead to breakthroughs for the students who need them most.
This book is essential for professionals working to implement assistive technology supports for learners with extensive support needs, including special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and paraprofessionals.
