August 1911, London.
As the capital endures the hottest summer on record, Britain stands on the brink of constitutional crisis. Prime Minister Herbert Asquith is determined to curb the power of the House of Lords, but opposition threatens to bring his campaign crashing down.
Asquith's Bluff blends fact and fiction to recount, with historical accuracy, how the House of Lords was grudgingly compelled to pass the Parliament Act of 1911. Alongside this true story runs a fictional narrative exploring the tactics employed by some of Asquith's supporters as they sought to secure victory.
Against a backdrop of political intrigue and hidden scandals, Asquith's Bluff is a gripping tale that brings one of Britain's defining political battles vividly to life.
