Kondwani Fidel is a writer, spoken word artist, and speaker who the City Paper calls "A Poet Laureate." He has been featured in The Huffington Post, CNN, Sky News, and other international publications. The Business Insider writes "The 22 year old poet is now reaching people all over the world." Ny Daily writes "A Baltimore poet is on the way to becoming the country's most famous substitute teacher, " after a video of him performing in front of students instantly went viral, receiving over 3 million shares. Fidel has made multiple TV appearances, including "Right This Minute TV" where his life story was syndicated to millions. Award winning Salon columnist D Watkins writes "Kondwani Fidel is an inspiration to us all. His voice is sharp, relevant, and now We are truly lucky to witness the journey of a young ambitious talent who is wise far beyond his years" Fidel was recently the keynote and lead performer at "The National Summit for Courageous Conversation" a global conference which is held annually by celebrated author Glenn Singleton who said "I witnessed Kondwani command the intellect, emotion and spirit of an international audience of nearly one thousand racial equity leaders. I knew his talent was the bonafide voice of our collective future." To date, Fidel has lectured at countless High Schools and Universities including Towson University, Maryland at College Park, Morgan State University, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Coppin State University, and Virginia State University. Kondwani debut poetry book "Asperous Artistry" was released in August of 2015. He has a Bachelor's degree in English from Virginia State University, and is working on his memoir "Lil Fuzzy: " Fidel works and lives in east Baltimore.
