Heute steuert er mit Unternehmen wie Scheer GmbH, imc AG sowie Scheer PAS ein Netzwerk von IT-Unternehmen mit rund 1.300 Mitarbeitern sowie das gemeinnützige August-Wilhelm Scheer Institut.
