Notă biografică

A professor of mechanical engineering, Jonathan Wickert teaches and conducts research in dynamics and mechanical vibration. As a researcher and consultant, he has worked with companies and federal agencies on the engineering of data storage systems, the manufacture of sheet metal, fiberglass, polymers, and industrial chemicals, automotive brakes, radial flow gas turbines, and various consumer products. He served as Iowa State's provost, dean of engineering, and chair of mechanical engineering, and was an engineering professor for 17 years at Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Wickert is the author of over 100 technical articles, and he received awards from the Society of Automotive Engineers, the American Society for Engineering Education, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He is a fellow of both the ASME and the National Academy of Inventors. Dr. Wickert earned B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
