Michael Gawenda is the Washington correspondent for The Age and the Sydney Morning Herald, a former editor-in-chief of The Age, and a former editor of Time (Australia). He is a multiple recipient of the Walkley Award, Australia's most prestigious award for journalism. He lives in Washington, DC.
