In his book, Too Big To Fail, Policies and Practices in Government Bailouts, book editor Benton E Gup, Alan Greenspan was quoted as saying when reacting to the Chrysler bailout over two decades ago, he stated he feared that not "that it would fail (Chrysler), but that it would succeed." According to John Gordon: "History Repeats in Finance Company Bailouts," Wall Street Journal. Greenspan was alluding to the fact that "fear and greed are two compelling forces present in markets."
