Fear gripping me, a feeling I was all too familiar with, I grabbed the leash where it clipped onto her collar and slid my hand to the loop at the end as I turned to run. The great German Shepherd dashed past me until the leash was tight. She pulled hard, making me turn my legs faster than I thought I could, just to keep from falling.
