en Limba Engleză Paperback – iun 2027
Joan Nestle's A Restricted Country brims with stories and essays that document a flesh and a spirit changed by their times: the McCarthy fifties, the activist sixties, the institution building of the seventies, and the renewed social struggle of the eighties. Featuring iconic essays by Nestle including " Two Women: Regina Nestle, 1910-1978 and Her Daughter, Joan," " My Mother Liked to Fuck," and " Butch-Femme Relationships: Sexual Courage in the 1950s," A Restricted Country is foundational to lesbian history, queer archives, and contemporary lesbian literature. A Restricted Country won an American Library Association Gay and Lesbian Book Award documenting its bravery and significance when first published. Now in a special edition to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of its publication, A Restricted Country features new essays from writers, activists, and archivists celebrating Nestle's life and work. With passionate stories about lesbian and queer women's herstories, A Restricted Country will reach readers anew and Nestle's explorations of lesbian and queer women's courage, resistance, defiance, and love remain moving and relevant today.
