Rick, a handsome black horse, is feeling so sad and lonely that his human family becomes terribly worried about him. To cure his loneliness, they adopt a Miniature Sicilian Donkey, Rocco, to keep him company. Rick and Rocco become friends instantly. Rick teaches Rocco how to perform amazing tricks that no donkey has ever before performed, while Rocco teaches Rick the pleasure of eating spaghetti and singing songs. Their friend, Julie, posts a video of them on the Internet, and soon they become world famous. Subsequent books in "The Traveling Tails of Rick and Rocco Series" describe their fantastic adventures in other countries.
