Gypsy born Lilandra Macili was an outcast among her people, they believed she was cursed, or worse a demon herself. When her caravan finds a village burned to cinders on the war ravaged border, they stop to bury the dead. But among the dead Lilandra finds much more, while she searches a house for supplies to be scavanged she comes across a badly burned boy still alive and half mad among the ashes.
