A Crown Called You: To the Boy Who Will Become is a poetic and empowering children's picture book written to affirm, uplift, and celebrate Black boys. Created with warmth, strength, and intention, this book speaks directly to the boy who is still becoming. Through heartfelt words and vivid, cinematic illustrations, each page reminds him that he is seen, valued, capable, and already filled with greatness. From the classroom to the stage, from the basketball court to the science lab, A Crown Called You shines a light on the dreams, courage, creativity, and brilliance Black boys carry within. It honors the many ways they can grow, lead, imagine, create, speak, build, and become. This story encourages every Black boy to stand tall in who he is, even when the world tries to define him. It reminds him that he is more than a name, more than what others expect, and more than the limits placed before him. He is power. He is wisdom. He is legacy. With themes of identity, confidence, self-worth, purpose, and Black boyhood, A Crown Called You is both a mirror and a message. It invites young readers to look within, recognize their strength, and believe in the greatness that has always lived inside them. Perfect for families, classrooms, libraries, and community spaces, this book is a love letter to Black boys and a reminder that the world is better because they are in it.
