Dr. Radha Gopalan's second book, You Power, is about harnessing the eight powers of you for a healthy life—because health is not what people do (or don't do) but who they must be. Dr. Gopalan explores his belief that we, ourselves, are responsible for—and create or perpetuate—our own illness.

You Power is perhaps the most important player in the outcome of dealing with disease. In fact, it is the most important factor in not developing disease.

In his first book, Second Opinion: 8 Deadly Diseases, Dr. Gopalan addresses how combining Eastern and Western medical philosophies with one's own You Power can change the game when it comes to how we approach health, wellness and disease.

Dr. Gopalan poses the question: How did patients who are successful in maintaining good health and fighting disease do it? They do it by understanding themselves...and using their unique You Power.

“A wise man should consider that health is the greatest of human blessings,
and learn how by his own thought to derive benefit from his illnesses.”

Born in northern Sri-Lanka, Dr. Radha Gopalan started his medical education at North Colombo Medical College in 1985. In 1990, and already well versed in Eastern and Western philosophies of medicine, Dr. Gopalan transferred to St. Georges University to complete his medical degree.
By 1993, Dr. Gopalan’s interest in eastern philosophy took him to London, where he worked as an acupuncturist with the acclaimed Dr. Ravi Ponniah. Again, East met West as he observed the integration of Acupuncture, Homeopathy, Osteopathy and herbs in the treatment of patients.

Dr. Gopalan returned to the United States for his post-graduate training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology in New Jersey. He?received additional fellowship training in Cardiac Electrophysiology, as well as another fellowship in Heart Transplant at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia.
