The State Of The Art (The Culture, nr. 4)
De (autor) Iain M. Banksen Limba Engleză Paperback – 27 May 1993
The first ever collection of Iain Banks's short fiction, this volume includes the acclaimed novella, The State of the Art. This is a striking addition to the growing body of Culture lore, and adds definition and scale to the previous works by using the Earth of 1977 as contrast. The other stories in the collection range from science fiction to horror, dark-coated fantasy to morality tale.
All bear the indefinable stamp of Iain Banks's staggering talent.

Victor Tanasa a dat nota:
Got the book for the Culture short stories and the novella and I can safely say that I wasn't disappointed. A Gift From the Culture was good, Descendant was OK but didn't blow me away and The State of the Art was the standout out of the three. A little preachy maybe, as Banks is really mad at us humans, but great nonetheless. The rest of the stories that I've read (Road of Skulls, Piece) were nothing special.
