Welcome to the Adventure Zone!

SEE! The illustrated exploits of three lovable dummies set loose in a classic fantasy adventure!

READ! Their journey from small-time bodyguards to world-class artifact hunters!

MARVEL! At the sheer metafictional chutzpah of a graphic novel based on a story created in a podcast where three dudes and their dad play a tabletop role playing game in real time!

Join Taako the elf wizard, Merle the dwarf cleric, and Magnus the human warrior for an adventure they are poorly equipped to handle AT BEST, guided ("guided") by their snarky DM, in a graphic novel that, like the smash-hit podcast it's based on, will tickle your funny bone, tug your heartstrings, and probably pants you if you give it half a chance.

With endearingly off-kilter storytelling from master goofballs Clint McElroy and the McElroy brothers, and vivid, adorable art by Carey Pietsch, The Adventure Zone: Here There be Gerblins is the comics equivalent of role-playing in your friend's basement at 2am, eating Cheetos and laughing your ass off as she rolls critical failure after critical failure.

I never thought I could find a graphic novel better than ‘Nimona’, to be honest, but I guess patience is not my strongest spot :)) This graphic novel entered into my top favorite graphic novels, on the first place. If in ‘Nimona’ the characters and the storyline were my favorite parts, in ‘The Adventure Zone’ my favorite part was the storytelling. The writing style is sarcastic and ironic, making me laugh out loud while reading it. Don’t want to spoil much, but the story also has a unique part: one of the authors of the graphic novel appears occasionally in the story, making ironic comments and putting the characters in an awkward mood. So, so good! The story is also amazing, with fantastic elements and it is described as if it were a game: with artifact hunting, villains to kill in order to pass into the next level, character upgrading etc. I cannot wait to read the second one in the series! The good news is that I won’t have to wait that long: it appears this year!

Bryan Constantin a dat nota:

I'm a huge fan of the podcast this comic series is on, so when I heard the McElroys teamed up with an artist (which was no other than Carey) to make a comic book I couldn't help but get super excited. I whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone looking for something fun to read/listen to, or perhaps any d&d enthusiasts out there (although you most certainly don't need to be one to enjoy the humour of the brothers). Personally I can't wait for the next volumes to come out.

Okay. Harken to my tale. Once upon a time (a couple of years ago) there were these brothers who had a bunch of really successful podcasts, and they decided to do a new podcast with their dad, where they all played D&D together as a family, and lo, this new podcast was called The Adventure Zone, and verily did it get downloaded over 10 million times, and wow did it totally eat the brains of all who listened, because: It was just. That. Rad. AND THEN did these guys team up with artist Carey Pietsch, and make a graphic novel where the weirdly sweet and brilliant but also super SUPER vulgar and honestly kind of bizarre story of The Adventure Zone got adapted into a goofy, innovative, and compelling graphic novel! Let no man deny that it was the best idea ever, right? Reader, we're publishing it.
