Throne of Glass was Sarah J. Maas’s first full-length novel to be published, though she already had a large online fan base, many of whom discovered this fantasy world in its first incarnation on www.fictionpress.com, written when Sarah was just sixteen. Throne of Glass was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Teen Book of the Year and has sold in 17 languages, and the sequels, Crown of Midnight and Heir of Fire, are New York Times bestsellers. You can find out more about Sarah and Throne of Glass at www.sjmaas.livejournal.com.
Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. Now she returns to the empire – to confront the shadows of her past ... The fourth breathtaking instalment in the New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series. Bloodthirsty for revenge on the two men responsible for destroying her life, and desperate to find out if the prince and his captain are safe, Celaena returns to Rifthold, the seat of so much evil. She has accepted her identity as Aelin Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen. But before she can reclaim her throne, there are dark truths to learn and debts to be paid. Aelin must stay hidden beneath her assassin’s hood and draw on her mortal strength as Celaena to prevent the King of Adarlan from tearing her world apart. Only then can she fight for her people. Readers will be held rapt as Celaena’s story builds to an agonising crescendo, packed with heart-pounding action and swoon-worthy romance.
Celaena balances between the living and the dead, humans and faeries, while her world creeps toward a dreadful war between the great and the monstrous. I was afraid to put the book down! ... Celaena is as much an epic hero as Frodo or Jon Snow!
Wow. Just … wow. So many things happened in this book. It took a completely different direction to anything I expected. It may be my favourite in the series yet
THE book of 2014 … I laughed, I bawled my eyes out and I never wanted this to end. A story of family, love, friendship, loyalty and self-discovery, steeped in Maas’s signature style, the plot will leave you reeling and breathless for more
Magic and fantasy come right to the forefront and it is credit to Maas that she can create not one kingdom but two that are so vividly described, so rich with detail and character plots
Heir of Fire is without doubt my favourite book of this series so far. With dragons and witches, fae and magic, fire and love, betrayal and loyalty, Sarah J. Maas has given me everything I could want in a fantasy novel. This series just gets better and better
