This innovative and heartfelt debut novel unfolds via vignettes, diary entries, illustrations, and more.
My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, I m allergic to the world. I don t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.
But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. He's tall, lean and wearing all black black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly.
Maybe we can t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It s almost certainly going to be a disaster.
And don t miss The Sun Is Also A Star, the breathtaking and romantic new novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Nicola Yoon in which two teens are brought together just when it seems like the universe is sending them in opposite directions. Also soon to be a major motion picture "

Sabrina Olteanu a dat nota:
This is one of the books that prove to me, love can come at all ages and many forms. I’ve read this story in one sitting, and I absorbed word to word. It was wonderful, a powerful story, a book that I’ll rove reading again and again. The story started with Maddy, painting her like a very sick girl, but at the same time, a girl who has passions like literature and architecture. She is a girl that won’t let life pass by her. She is closed in the house because of her autoimmune disease. Her only friends are her mom and her nurse Carla. Carla is the woman who encourages Maddy to leave daily, to appreciate every gift and keep smiling. “Life is a gift. Don't forget to live it.” One day, a new family moves into the house to heirs, and she meets Oliver. He is dark, handsome, a guy who loves limerick poetry and the only person that visits her. The fall in love, step by step, with each new thing they discover about each other. The visits, the talking on e-mails and on chats, the messages at the windows all lead to the inevitable. “There’s a Japanese phrase that I like: koi no yokan. It doesn’t mean love at first sight. It’s closer to love at second sight. It’s the feeling when you meet someone that you’re going to fall in love with them. Maybe you don’t love them right away, but it’s inevitable that you will.” I loved how the author painted the entire story. We have Olly how appears as the cold guy, but he has a though life, and he loves his mom and sister. Maddy appeared scared, and not maybe decisive enough about leaving her life until Olly. Carla encouraged her and sustained her till the end. I especially loved the way the authors introduced small passages from other books. It was a special story, a different one that I truly loved. I adored the ending, it has the special touch. I honestly don’t have a bad thing to say about this story, it was just that amazing! I highly recommend it!
