Question ...How many bumps are there on a pineapple and what is special about this number?
Do you know the answer?
This is a favourite in numerical reasoning tests and there is in fact a serious mathematical answer to this question.
Selection tests are now common. This book tells you what they are, what they are used for and what employers are looking for, as well as what to expect, how to do well in them and how to secure that job.
  • You can find out why employers put you through these hoops and why you shouldn't worry about them.
  • You can find ways to prepare for and survive selection tests.
  • You can improve your performance at selection tests.
This book will include comments from employers who use the tests, psychologists who design the tests and applicants who have faced such selection tools.
Readers will be able to work through several tests to assess their own ability and they will also know why employers use such tests, what types of performance they are really trying to assess and how test results are weighted against other selection methods.
The bottom line is that job applicants do get very worried about selection tests - even personality tests make them feel uncomfortable - so this book provides reassurance and plenty of genuine work-through examples. It covers everything right down to test anxiety, test simulations and misuse of tests.
