This publication complements the Results of the 1997 Coordinated Portfolio Investment Survey (CPIS). It presents an assessment of survey data from CPIS and a summary of the improvements introduced into national systems for collecting data on international portfolio investment stocks as a result of countries' participation in the 1997 CPIS.
