2016 marks the 50th anniversary of Giacometti's death. The National Portrait Gallery held an exhibition of Giacometti's portraits in 2015; Tate Modern will put on a major retrospective in Summer 2017 which is likely to tour to the US and at least one other country

Claudia Milburn is a Curator at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts; Calvin Winner is Head of Collections Management and Conservation at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts. He co-curated the SCVA exhibition 'Francis Bacon and the Masters' and was previously a Curator at Tate.
