Descriere

Who are you? What really matters to you in your life? What is your greatest happiness? What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery? What would you change in the world if you could?Choose one word that defines you. These six, seemingly simple, questions can lead to a world of stories, insights, and awareness. In this beautifully photographed collection of interviews, 200 women from a variety of backgrounds are posed these questions.

The women profiled range from actresses and celebrities to activists and every day people- some prominent interviewees include actress Gillian Anderson, Laura Dawn (creative director of MoveOn.org), Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Winnie Mandela, and Jane Goodall. The photography coupled with the stories from these amazing people makes this a timeless portrait of the women who are shaping our world today and strives to bring positive change in a time when there are still so many fighting for justice and equality. In conjunction with the publication of the book will be a traveling exhibition of the photographs.

The photos will be projected on 12 screens arranged in a circle with the audience viewing in the centre and will continuously change to create an interactive visual experience. Those who attend the exhibit will get the chance to answer the same 6 questions themselves. The exhibition will hit New York in October 2017 (UK date is not confirmed yet) with the possibility of showings in other major US cities.

This title is very special to PQ Blackwell and 10% of their revenue will go to a special account to be distributed to organisations devoted to protecting the rights of women worldwide.
